Chemistry alumna Dina Sharon '14 receives Hertz Fellowship for graduate research

Dina Sharon '14 is one of ten Hertz Fellowship recipients selected from nearly 700 applicants interested in pursuing graduate work in chemistry, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics. The fellows will receive a stipend and full tuition support valued at more than $250,000 for up to five years of graduate study.

Sharon is currently a researcher at D.E. Shaw Research, using molecular dynamics simulations toward drug discovery. She intends to pursue graduate studies this fall.

Sharon’s senior thesis explored the computational chemistry of carbon–hydrogen bond activation, based on her work in the lab of John Groves, the Hugh Stott Taylor Chair of Chemistry at Princeton.
