Dr. McWilliams, a Managing Director at Sanderling Ventures, will focus his talk on venture capital investing in the life science arena, with a particular focus on biotechnology. Dr. McWilliams will provide a brief overview of the field, describe a framework for investing and highlight a variety of the technologies within the Sanderling Ventures portfolio. Dr. McWilliams will describe how his career experiences following graduation from Princeton (Chemistry GS ‘91) led him to a career in venture capital; experiences which include working at a start-up biotechnology company (Oxford Molecular) and a large biopharmaceutical company (Genentech). Dr. McWilliams will touch on a breadth of careers within the biotechnology ecosystem and describe the role of venture capital.
