Fellowships Provide Third-Year Support to Princeton Graduate Students
Longtime Princeton faculty member Ted Taylor, the A. Barton Hepburn Professor of Organic Chemistry, Emeritus, has established the Edward C. Taylor Fellowships for graduate students in chemistry.
The impact this bold initiative will have on the field in this era of declining grant support for the sciences is impossible to overstate and is without precedent at Princeton. It provides fellowships to all graduate students in their third year of study, a rarity in higher education that will allow these students to focus entirely on their research during this key period in their training. This will also greatly strengthen our ability to attract the very best chemistry students to Princeton, to the benefit of the department, the University, and the discipline as a whole.
Ted Taylor’s fellowships demonstrate a profound and lasting commitment to Princeton, and to research and discovery in chemistry.
