Matsuura started as a manager during her freshman year, then served in the role of Head Manager during her junior and senior years. She assisted not only with home competitions, but also traveled with the team for away games. The Princeton Athletic Department presented Matsuura with a framed photograph showing her enthusiastically providing encouragement from the sidelines, one of the coaches presented her with a specially assembled booklet of photographs illustrating her contributions during her four years of service, and a close friend surprised her with a basketball signed by the members of the team.

Matsuura is currently wrapping up her chemistry thesis under the mentorship of Professor Robert R. Knowles. After graduation, she will pursue a PhD in Chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California.
