Reunions 2015The annual Alyea Memorial Demonstration Lecture is appropriate for all ages. Hubert Alyea taught at Princeton from 1930 to 1972 and became world famous for lively, colorful chemistry classes and public talks that were as much performance as professorship. Described as one of the Princeton’s, “most popular faculty members of the mid-20th century,” Alyea became well known for lively and captivating demonstrations that sometimes resulted in explosions that would singe his clothing. This demonstration lecture will feature some of the very same experiments presented by Professor Alyea.
