How plants capture energy from sunlight
More than 10 million billion photons of light strike a leaf each second. Incredibly, almost every red-colored photon is captured by chlorophyll pigments and initiates steps to plant growth. New experimental advances have enabled us to answer questions including: How is the light captured? Is quantum mechanics employed?
Nozomi Ando, Assistant Professor of Chemistry
X-ray vision into the world of enzymes
3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
