MacMillan receives 2014 Award for Creativity in Molecular Design & Synthesis

David MacMillan, the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry and Departmental Chair, is the recipient of the 2014 Award for Creativity in Molecular Design & Synthesis. The award was established by the North Jersey Section of the American Chemical Society and is sponsored by Rutgers University, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Merck, Schering-Plough and Roche.

This award is given to an individual who has shown exceptional leadership and creativity in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences, method development, chemical synthesis and/or medicinal chemistry. Professor MacMillan will be recognized for his pioneering work in the field of enantioselective catalysis, new reaction methodology and natural product synthesis.

Professor MacMillan will receive his award at the Symposium for Creativity in Molecular Design & Synthesis on Friday, December 5, to be held at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University.
